Abstract :
Teachers play a critical role in the success of school-based career guidance and counseling programs by influencing career aspirations of students and decision-making processes and enhance scale, speed, and standardization in the career guidance process. This study investigates the awareness and perceptions of teachers towards school-based career guidance and counselling programs. Utilizing the PRISMA framework for systematic review, the study identifies relevant literature, synthesizes qualitative insights, and highlights key themes around the role of teachers in implementing effective career guidance. The findings of the study revealed that while teachers are well-prepared to provide career guidance, but many face significant challenges including insufficient training, lack of role clarity, resource constraints, cultural influences with societal norms and role ambiguity leads to ineffective implementation of career guidance and counselling programs.
